ACLU of Washington State's Drug Policy Reform Project
The Washington State affiliate of the ACLU has its own Drug Policy Reform Project that supports a public health approach to the use and abuse of drugs, including investment in drug treatment, education, and regulation of drug availability.

ACLU Drug Law Reform Project
A division of the national ACLU, the Drug Law Reform Project's goal is to end punitive drug policies that cause the widespread violation of constitutional and human rights, as well as unprecedented levels of incarceration.

The Lindesmith Library
This library in New York contains approximately 10,000 documents including books, government reports, non-governmental organization reports, articles, and videos concerned with illegal drugs and their use and abuse, plus drug policy and drug history.  Some of the documents are available online in electronic format.

Marijuana Policy Project
Incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1995, the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP) works to minimize the harm associated with marijuana — both the consumption of marijuana and the laws that are intended to prohibit such use. MPP believes that the greatest harm associated with marijuana is prison. Therefore, MPP focuses on removing criminal penalties for marijuana use, with a particular emphasis on making marijuana medically available to seriously ill people who have the approval of their doctors.

National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws
Since its founding in 1970, NORML has provided a voice in the public policy debate for those Americans who oppose marijuana prohibition and favor an end to the practice of arresting marijuana smokers. A nonprofit public-interest advocacy group, NORML represents the interests of the tens of millions of Americans who smoke marijuana responsibly.

The November Coalition
Founded by prisoners and their loved ones in 1997 and headquartered in Colville, Washington, The November Coalition is a non-profit organization of grassroots volunteers educating the public about the destructive increase in prison population in the United States due to current drug laws.  Publishes The Razor Wire, a newspaper reporting on drug policy reform efforts, legislative updates, news about drug law vigils and meetings, legal analysis, and shared letters between prisoners and their friends and loved ones on the outside.

Students for Sensible Drug Policy
A nonprofit youth organization focused on reducing the harms associated with drug abuse and the "War on Drugs," especially those that affect young and underrepresented communities, through public discourse and involvement in the political process.
